About a year ago I asked you guys for help finding a program to convert a publisher file to a pdf file. (for the Hedgehog Welfare Society newsletter) One of you suggested pdf995. This has worked great for the last year. Now when I try to use it I get the following message…
gswin32c.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
when I click on the button for more details it says…
AppName: gswin32c.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0
ModName: gsdll32.dll ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0016bffdthen it says that these files will be included in the report…
C:DOCUME~1OwnerLOCALS~1TempWER3223.dir00gswin32c.exe.mdmp
C:DOCUME~1OwnerLOCALS~1TempWER3223.dir00appcompat.txtThe only thing that I did to the computer from the last time I used it (about 3 weeks ago) to now was that I uninstalled and removed a trial version of Photoshop LE. Now it doesn’t work. Can any of you help me? Please!!!!
01/03/2008 at 4:35 am #1882993I did a Google search on “gswin32c.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close” and found that there is a connection to Photoshop. I have to wonder if your newer program was sharing a file or two with Photoshop and was removed during your uninstall.
Might try to reinstall the program that you like with the hopes that it will add the file(s) back again.
01/03/2008 at 5:44 am #1882994I’ve had pretty good luck with Primo PDF.
It installs as a printer, and any windows software that prints, can print to a PDF file.
01/03/2008 at 5:44 am #1882995I tried that and it didn’t work. Maybe I’ll try reinstalling photoshop again… it couldn’t hurt. Thanks for looking. I’ll let you know tomorrow what happens.
01/03/2008 at 3:13 pm #1882996I’m going to try and reinstall photoshop when I get home, but as it is now, I’m past the deadline for my newsletter. Would any of you be willing to take my file and run it through and make it into a pdf file for me so that we can get it out? Please. 😀 It shouldn’t take long at all. It’s a short 11 pages this time.
Thanks.

I’d be happy to, we operate a ferret rescue in Sheboygan. Just email it to [email protected]
01/03/2008 at 6:21 pm #1882998I can’t thank you enough. Sending it now.

01/03/2008 at 11:55 pm #1883000I just reinstalled the photoshop program and it didn’t fix the problem. 😥
What is the next thing I can try?

Well I use Cute PDF with great sucess. You can find it at: http://www.cutepdf.com I’ve used it from every program I have I think, Photoshop, Coreldraw, Word, Publisher, etc… Great little free program I think. Just install it and it will show up as a printer and you just print to it like you are going to print to a printer and it will ask you for a file name and where you would like to it. Easy as that. Hope this helps.

01/04/2008 at 5:11 am #1883002I have that program loaded too. It’s not the program that is the problem, it’s something with the dll file.
01/04/2008 at 5:35 am #1883003You may have already tried this, I find if you are having issues with software it’s usually best to uninstall the software and try reinstalling it.
Better yet would be to uninstall the software and run something like CCleaner to remove any leftover crap, then reinstall the software.
01/17/2008 at 3:06 am #1883004😥 Ok… so I finally got a spare moment to do this. I ran ccleaner and I still get the same message. Any other suggestions?
