I don’t know if this is the right place for this or not. But according to geocaching.com, today is the 11th anniversary of the first official cache placement. They posted this note on facebook with a photo of a commemorative plaque:
“Geocaching began 11 years ago today! The first geocache was hidden in rural Oregon, USA on May 3, 2000. This tribute plaque to “The Original Stash” remains. Who would have guessed there would be more than 1.3 million geocaches today? Are you finding a cache today to celebrate?
