I’ve just finished working with the “webmaster” for Harrington Beach State Park … who now has a Geocaching page on the park’s website, explaining geocaching and showcasing the park’s geocaches. When the open house event is over, there will be a link right next to Fishing, Hiking, Biking and Skiing, that says Geocaching!
The Site … http://www.harringtonbeach.org
(Please note that at this time, park management would like to keep the geocache count at the current 3 caches.)
This is outstanding!! It’s the kind of thing we’ve been talking about for a real long time… Looks like WGA and the DNR in association with some special people in the parks are getting in sync with each other…
I call it a small victory for all parties involved…
Does anyone know if any other states orginizations have this good of a repoire with their DNR?
Too cool!! Nice job to all those that have a part in what’s happening here!!
Thanks gang!

It’s all about breaking down “barriers” one at a time … and one on one (at least in this case) … I got Harrington’s webmasters interest peeked, then I prepared the entire web page so he had to just dropped it into his site … the rest was him just seeing the value in adding it to the site. It also helps when people that use the park for other purposes start asking what’s going on (ie. the crowds at an event) and it stirs up interest in the public.
We just wanted to say, “Good Job!”
