This morning I started out early and hit “A Lion in My Dew”, which is in New Berlin at about 8:30. I drove around the park from the west side and could not find a good parking space but finally found one on the north end of the park. Once I got out of my car I could see a parking area on the east side which looked closer to where I was going but it was only the matter of 300-400 feet so off I went.
I had noticed a truck and a car in that lot and I could not see anyone else in the park anywhere. So looking at my GPS while it guided me to the first stage of this multi-cache I ended up in the other parking lot and in the truck, which was 10 feet from the place I needed to go, were a young couple enjoying a very intimate relationship in the front seat. As Sherlock Holmes might say “I believe they are missionaries Watson!”.
I quickly consulted my geocaching manual on what to do in a situation of this type and found nothing that helped so I went boldly on with my cache while minding my own business.
With my back to the truck I did the math I needed and moved on to the next waypoint which was still in the area of the lot.
I completed the final a few minutes later and it appears that the occcupants had also finished theirs at about the same time.
Hmmm makes you wonder about those folks in New Berlin .

Hey now!! We live in New Berlin. I’m sure they weren’t local, as we use the back seat.

Can’t say that we’ve ever run into that situation while hunting. We’ve discussed how it must look though to bystanders when we go into the woods and 15-20 minutes later come out looking all disheveled with a look of satisfaction or disappointment on our faces!

I’ve seen this situation a number of times, not young couples but 30- and 40-somethings.
    They were probably married.
    Not necessarily to each other.

Ah, yes, the awkward realization of what two people are doing in the front seat of the car in what would seem to be uncomfortable with that steering wheel.

We parked next to two cars at Reforestation camp not realizing that they met there for other reasons than taking a hike in the woods. It was actually impressive being that it was 9am on a cold December Sunday morning. Our story is that they told their parents they were going to church…

This has happened to us on more than a few occasions. At first my reaction was to just ask the geocacher to please move on, but now we try not to park near any caches.

Has this ever happened to me? Wow! If I had dollar for every time I came across that situation during my ranger patrol duties I could retire and devote more time to caching!
What’s really interesting is when we run the plates and both cars come back to two seperate married people! Uh-Oh!
