So Fall is here and my attention has turned to all things spooky…..
I’m working on a cache that I want to list as a letterbox but seem to be lacking in motivation.
It begins:
“Silent they floated. Cutting through the darkness, seeing with unseeing eyes. These were the dark times. Long before the white man made his way to what the Potawatomi called Coo-No-Mo-Wauk.
For ages beyond memory fires were lit to hold back the night. At these fires tales were told of phantoms able to fly unfettered through the darkness. Whispered were rumors of creatures steeling away the unwary in the black of night. Before time itself existed, these beings ruled the darkness…..”
So are there good “Haunted” caches out there?

Yep that is even better than a Haunted Cache…….
09/26/2007 at 6:36 pm #1879371Not a cache, but we came across a TB, The Legion of the Undead, a small skeleton whose goal is to visit ancient ruins. We thought State of Mind Wisconsin was an appropriate stop. Hard to believe, but this TB is still alive and kicking (or should I say undead?) after more than 3 years. It’s now in the Czech Republic.
09/26/2007 at 7:15 pm #1879372We are actually in the middle of a series of night caches leading to a final all dealing with local hauntings around the Point area. Should be up in the next week or so!!!
09/26/2007 at 9:14 pm #1879373Spooky Caches of Wisconsin – a bookmark of mine. Maybe you’ll get some inspiration from some of them.
09/26/2007 at 9:42 pm #1879374This was a fun one. Better just after sundown or very early am. Right now, it’s pretty wet, I’m sure!

09/26/2007 at 9:55 pm #1879375Did I hear something about a night cache (as he looks at the Bandits with that strange smirk on his face). I’ll be heading to Wausau as part of my yearly 4 days off Thanksgiving run…. after all I celebrate Thanksgiving in October. A night cache is reason enough to hit Stevens Point… the only thing that would make it better would be an Earthcache in Point… hint, hint! 😀

This is a great set of caches! We have done a few on the list and have enjoyed everyone of them. Now we have a list to work from. Thanks LightingBugs Mum!

Agreed. I have done several on the list as well. Nice book mark….

Anybody been to the Ghost Train caches? We have always wanted to do them, did you see anything? 😯

Been there, done that…..I remember it well (May 6, 2006) . Nice cache and a good addition to the thread.
09/27/2007 at 2:36 pm #1879380The Dinosaur series by Pjphoto1 in NW Milwaukee are great caches in their own right, but do them at dusk or night time with the kids and you’ll have life long memories.
GCXQW7 – Dinosaur Hill
GCXXNZ – Dinosaur Dash
GC12B4V – The Raptors Nest
GC12B4M – The Lost cache of Dinosaur DashDon’t just find the caches. Read the story line and look around. With any luck, you’ll make it back to this forum. 😯

Added this one to my list – thanks. Any other ghostly themed caches out there that I don’t know about?
09/29/2007 at 12:13 am #1879382Another haunted cache site:

By the way, there is a cheesy book available called “Wisconsin’s Haunted Places” that mentions that cemetary, as well as my Elk Creek cache location, and a host of other cool ideas for haunted caches. Do what I did: Go to Border’s and read the book and find out about haunted places near you and use the info to put out a cache there. Ya dont even have to buy the book!
