    Calling Hudson area cachers

The Hudson Hot Air Affair Committee (hot air balloon rally)is looking for an experienced geocacher (or geocachers) to help with their event being held in Hudson, WI Feb 2-3-4. They hope to add to the weekend events a bit of geocaching.

They are looking for someone that would be willing to do about a 1
hour information/question/answer with balloon pilots and others that are
interested in geocaching. This would be done Saturday, Feb 3rd at the
E.P. Rock School/launch field. This would be very informal but
    hopefully informative.

I had originally planned to help with this, but now sadly I see I have to work. (Man, I hate it when earning a living interferes with geocaching activities.) I am wondering if there is someone or several someones who would be interested in helping with this great oppourtunity to expand geocaching in the Hudson area? If interested, please send me an email here.

    Thanks,

    zuma

Da Bloodhound, Free Scout, Spike007 and Beadylake Crew have contacted the Hot Air Affair folks and will be providing whatever they need. Work sucks! except it does pay for caching! DB 😀

Here is more info on the Hudson Hot Air Balloon affair, which I am cut and pasting from there email, for those interested:

First of all, I want to thank all of you for responding with offers to help us at the Hot Air Affair! It was great to see the positive responses for both the media interview and the information, question & answer time.

Evy Nerbonne has arranged to get the media taken care of and has left me in charge of getting all of you organized! She is setting up the interviews and then the plan is that one of the reporters will go geocaching–with the local cable tv crew filming the search! It sounds like fun!

We are scheduling a Geocaching information and question & answer period on Saturday, Feb. 3 for about 1 hour starting at 12 noon. This will be at the E.P. Rock School in Hudson. This is the balloon launchfield as well as the area used for the Marketplace & Craft Fair, Minnesota Kite Society Demonstrations, Ice Carving Demonstration and Winter Olympiad. Depending on the weather we could have the Geocaching session on the launchfield, inside the school or in the Freedom Tent.

When you get to the school/launchfield area, just ask anyone that is wearing a Hot Air Affair white staff jacket, or wearing a 2-way radio where to find either me or Evy. You can also go to the Freedom Wagon where the announcer is and he can help find us also. The folks with the jackets or radios–most with headsets–are committee members and can help you find us.

We have listed geocaching on the Hot Air Affair Website and have hidden 4 caches relating to the ballooning weekend. We are also providing additional information in the print advertising and on the website about other geocaches in the Hudson area.

For those of you not familiar with the Hot Air Affair, you can go to the website to get info on this year’s schedule of events or if you want me to mail a brochure with the info just send me your mailing address and I will get a brochure in the mail asap.

Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions on how to make this the most informative session we can make it.

    THANKS! Evonne

How did this event turn out? I thought the weather might have been too cold for much caching.
