I was contacted recently by a Boy Scout leader looking to set up a geocaching outing for his troop.
was wondering if you or somebody from WGA would be interested in putting on a similar presentation for Boy Scout Troop 796 ? We would be able to supply a limited number of GPS units, maybe 4 to 6.
The scouts have selected a date of November 11 for the geocaching outing.
I have booked a reservation at the KMSF-Southern Unit for November 10-12. We will be camping in the Pine Woods campground in the far north end of the park.
If you are interested and can help, either post a message here, send me a PM, or e-mail me at: wga2 dash admin at wi dash geocaching dot com.
I’ll see if I can rally my Troop to assist.
Hello Tie,
I may be able to help out the scouts. Do you need printed information or just hands on help? Maybe both? I have some connections that may even have GPSr units. Nice campground there and runs along the hiking trails of Scuppernong! Let me know what you need.
The Tapps
Being an old Eagle Scout (old is the key word) I would be willing to help if available that weekend. I will have to see what my plans are as the date draws closer. I did about half of the KMSF caches a few weeks ago and I’m pretty familiar with the area. There is a bunch of great caches right by the Ottawa Lake recreation that I think the Scouts would enjoy.
I am also an Eagle Scout I would be willing to help out if need please let me know what I can do to help I have 2 gamin units I can bring possible 3 if I ask my boss nicely let me know
I have been in communication with that Scoutmaster and am taking several Scouts up to help.
