Almost three years ago, Ol’ Bossy was accidently left behind when the Cheeseheads visited Maryland. Since then, the poor bovine has taken quite a roundabout trip through the eastern United States:

Now, she finally finds herself in Wisconsin, however she is locked in the Dark Tower in Door County. If you happen to see her, could you please point her towards Kenosha? She misses her family and is excited to meet the newest Cheese Doodle!

    Thanks!

Aaaaargh! 100 miles from home, and suddenly she’s in the middle of nowhere! 🙁

Anyone going to western Montana anytime soon? 🙄

    Instant update:

Who says the GC.com forums are all bad? An aquaintance from the forums amazingly happens to work a scant two miles from Middle of Nowhere, MT and pulled off a TB rescue over lunch!

    Moo.

    Moo?

    MOO!

I released Ol’ Bossy in Maryland on July 5th, 2002. After four and a half years and a few close calls, I finally have her back, picking it up from brkster’s Roman Eyeballs this morning.

What’s amazing is that after all this time, the battery inside even still works! I figured time+moisture+cold+usage would have killed that off years ago.

I wish I had included a picture with the original log. Steph was just three and Matt was almost eleven months. There were two caches in this park, and while this one was pretty easy, I remember carrying Steph down a pretty steep slope through the brush to get to the other one while Kirsten waited up on the trail with the baby. By the time we got back up, Bossy had already been grabbed by a pair of cachers who were following us. After that, it was quite a trip for the cow:

Thanks to everyone who helped move this along, especially wascozookeeper, Jennifer&Dean for their timely rescues and NoLemon and badlands for finally getting him home!

Thanks for sharing all these details, pics and maps. Really made me smile about little Bossy’s adventures!
