I think there may be a few folks who have yet to see this, but be aware that the WGA has provided us with some great tools to help promote our association. By placing the WGA logo on all your cache pages, you will be sure to lead more cachers to the site. or

These banners or a cool scrolling message can be placed on your cache page by following the instructions provided here- http://www.wi-geocaching.com/help/how.html

This is a simple and quick way to help get more cachers involved in the WGA!

Thanks Russ! Now I know how “to do it.” But, can I “do it” to my existing caches or do they have to be brand new? Thanks, Tami

It can be done to any cache page. For an existing cache page, select “edit listing”, and paste the code in the long description block where you want the logo to appear.

Also make sure to check the box that says “The descriptions below are in HTML”. This will effect all the text in the block.

If your pages are not in HTML, you will have to enter the tag “
” at the end of each line where you want a carriage return and a “

” anywhere you want to skip a line.

There are many sites on the web show simple html you can use in your cache pages. One of my favorites is- http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Guide/Overview.html

If anybody needs help with this, let me know and I can do it for you (time permitting).

Just E-mail me at: wga2-admin at wi-geocaching dot com.

Please include your geocaching.com team name, and the GCXXXX numbers of the cache(s) you want the logo on.

For those that might be helped with an example. Check out these two screen shots, from one of my caches.

This first one shows one of my cache listings, with the WGA “linked” logo circled in blue at the end of the page text …

This second one shows the same cache, after I hit the [Edit Listing] button. Note the red circle, showing that the box is checked that “activates” the use of HTML code. Then the green box, is marking the actually HTML code that I copied from the “Help Spread the Word” page of the WGA website and pasted at the end of my cache text …

I also did some “optional” things that are more to my liking. Such as using an “align” code to line up the logo with the text on center. I also threw in a

command to break to a new paragraph before the logo. But both of these things were just extra stuff I wanted to do.
