Hi All,
I’m a long time geocacher but new to the WI forum. A geocoin was lost, then found by a muggle who attempted to do the right thing and get hte geocoin back in the game. The Gen & Eric geocoin has been rehidden by the muggle (new geocacher). However he didn’t know that it was to be hidden in a geocache. He randomly hid it in the park. He did get the coordinates and he does describe the exact location he hid it. I live in Minneapolis and don’t have the time to drive out that way. I’m hoping someone lives close to this place and can retrieve it and get it back in action…the right way. Here all the info he gave….
“THIS COIN XXXXXX WAS FOUND QUITE BY ACCIDENT IN A MAINTENANCE SHOP. SO APPARENTLY IT WAS FOUND BY SOMEONE ELSE AND THEN LOST OR MISPLACED BY THEM. THE COIN IS NOW AT TELULAH PARK IN APPLETON WI. LOCATED ON THE TOP “RAIL” OF THE STEAM LOCOMOTIVE SOO LINE INFORMATION SIGN ABOUT 7 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND.

HOPE I ENTERED EVERYTHING RIGHT AND THANKS FOR LETTING ME BE APART OF YOUR SPORT.
GOOD LUCK”07/06/2009 at 5:36 pm #1910461I can grab this on my way home from work tonight… I will let you know if I find it there.

On the Left Side of the Road...07/06/2009 at 10:59 pm #1910464So I got the e-mail saying he picked it up again. I guess he beat you to it. I told him how to find a cache and to place it into one. I also gave him an option of meeting up with a fellow geocacher in the area and giving the coin to that person. Thanks for going out and looking for it.

07/10/2009 at 4:51 pm #1910466Well no update as of yet. I still haven’t heard from him since he picked up the coin. Hopefully the coin will show up soon. Preferably in a geocache 😉
07/14/2009 at 1:10 am #1910467No worries, the coin is in my possession and will be getting a nice polish job and mylar sleeve. I appreciate him trying, if only all geocachers were as thoughtful and responsible with the property of others as this guy was trying to be!
FYI: You might want to edit out the coin number from this thread just to keep things copacetic…
07/16/2009 at 6:27 pm #1910468Thanks for grabbing it! He was very helpful and courteous. He would make a great geocacher.
On a side note, I wish I could edit my first post, but it looks like I can’t. Maybe the mods can help in that respect.
