I have recently decided to possibly archive one of my caches. I like the location but each year in early summer it gets muggled by some kids who are aware of where it is located through a school PE class.
Here is my question. I have moved the cache to new location about 200 feet away. I have also changed the hide and the size of the cache container. Should I archive the original since many elements have changed? On a sentimental note this was our FIRST HIDE and I’d kind of like to keep the history of the cache. Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated.
do what you want, you are the owner.
I don’t think that the “area” is going to be very much different 200 feet away, so I would say keep it going. On the other hand… It would give us another cache to find.
The history won’t go away with an archived cache. Everyone that’s found it will still be able to see the cache page.
At 200′ I’d say just revise the current cache … but it’s your call.
If you do create a new cache and you want to “preserve” the history of the old cache … you can make that history easier to find by mentioning it in the new cache, with a link in the text to the old cache.
