This is one of those help me questions that does not have to do with a specific geocache or a gpsr. cm2gpx is a utlity which will, as I understand it so far, will take a found log from a Cachemate file and somehow, magically, transfer it to GSAK. Too many acronyms?

What I am is looking for is a friendly how to file. This may drop on deaf ears but I am giving it a shot here.

Well, after a little while, I finally figured this thing out. After reading the following how to, the reader may well say, “that’s too complicated, I’ll do it the way I have always been doing it.” Believe me, I can empathize!
So, that being said, here are the directions….so far….
    1. Find cache and record data on pda using Cachemate. Do not copy log into memo.
    2. When at home, HOT SYNC PDA.
    3. Open folder with CM2gpx program in it.
    4. Locate the cmate file. This may well be the most difficult part. My file is located along the path C:Program FilesHandspringrpaskeBackupDefaultItems-cMat.PDB –
    5. Now, drag the cmat file onto the CM2GPX file. A new file will be created in the same place as the cmat file above. It will probably be called. default-out.
    6. Now open GPX and pull down the file menu to Load Cachemate logs and finds.
    7. Once again, locate the file that was created in step 5. Chance are it will be created along the same path as step 4. (C:Program FilesHandspringrpaskeBackup)
    8. Press the ‘LOG’ button.
    9. If all goes as planned, a new column will be added to the GPX file – found by me.
    10. The date the geocache was found will show.

**Now I am hoping that someone comes up with a macro that will enable all of this to happen with the press of a button.
