I’m new to earthcaches; I’ve only done a couple. But I have a spot that I think would make a good earthcache. I’m wondering about the logging requirements. From what I’ve read you can use a sign that may be placed there for someone to email me something off of it? Or you can have them guess the size of the land also? Thanks for the help.

    Thanks for the props Marc….

The guidelines have shifted over time about what is and is not allowed for logging requirements but ideally you should have a question that shows that the visitor has learned something based on the unique geology of the location.

The verification questions are not always easy to come up with. When I create a listing I normally try to ask questions based on the geology of the area AND also a site specific verification question such as information from a sign. The reason the reviewers don’t want information solely from a sign is because sign information can be Googled.

I will say though, I have seen a couple of listings with information based solely on the signs located there and it leaves me scratching my head because from everything I have read that (as the only source of visit verification) should not be allowed…

…long story short, come up with a question based on the geology of the area…if you need help drop me a PM and I can see if I can help you come up with a question.
