This event is being held February 5th from 8:30 am to approx 1:00 pm at Badger Prairie Park east of Verona, Wisconsin. The Cub Scouts will move from event stations to event station in 15 to 30 minute intervals, geocaching is going to be one of the events. What I am looking for are five to ten volunteers to help run a geocaching event station. What I am planning on doing is hiding five caches, just out of sight of the event station. Have one or two volunteers with there GPSr preloaded with the coordinate of one of the caches and have the group of up to eight cub scouts find there cache. I don’t see that much teaching will be involved, not enough time. Keep it simple and have fun. There will be a shelter near by and hot soup.
Volunteers signed up:
Cachew
Hotdogs Off Trail
Sbukosky
LightningBugs
Pharmteam
Cashing Out
Linus4Cache

01/09/2005 at 2:57 pm #1740309Unfortunately I have to work that day. I’d absolutely love to help out, but these never seem to happen on my off days
Alan, I think it’s great that you are willing to help show these kids the fun of Geocaching. Your a credit to the WGA
01/09/2005 at 3:18 pm #1740310Add at least one Hotdog to your helper list. Do you think it would be advantagious to give the Scout leaders any advance info to prepare the Cubs a little??

Waukesha01/09/2005 at 7:49 pm #1740312Hi Alan,
We can be there, but we may be a few minutes late. Geoff is a Cub Scout – I’m sure he would be willing to work with the boys and share his “expertise”01/09/2005 at 10:31 pm #1740313We will both plan on being there to help.

01/11/2005 at 1:27 pm #1740317Thanks everybody for your help! The more volunteers we have the easier it will be for all.
01/11/2005 at 2:11 pm #1740318Hmmmm…where are the rest of the Team Badger member names? We like to volunteer to help other cachers, right guys? …and girls…
01/11/2005 at 4:18 pm #1740319Cool,
Trudy says I can go, she might come along too. Count on a couple more GPSRs in the mix, as well.
tb02/02/2005 at 6:44 pm #1740320I may be in the area and I may swing by. Karen of Pharmteam forwarded the email with the numbers (as of about a week ago) to cover such an eventuality.
