“Heritage Trail” (GC12CMK) near Portage by sadowskifamily doesn’t have any bells and whistles, but it’s what geocaching is all about to us: Take a long hike in a scenic spot and find the container to sign your name on the log sheet.
We did this one a couple of days ago in the late afternoon at the end of a day of caching, and it was a cure for the 4-5 month-long winter. No bugs yet, but lots of other wildlife. Portage also has many other caches to find, both in the area and on the way to it, no matter which direction you are coming from.
We can be wimps when it comes to some of the more physically challenging caches, but this one was just right–really hit the spot for us.
