Hi, We’re near LaCrosse, and Trekkin’ is Mr. Timberline Echoes brother. He had purchased a GPS to aid in his historical trekking scouts–they won’t use them on the actual treks, since the GPS of 1750 would be a plain old compass!–and we kind of got drawn into the caching while learning how to use the darn thing.
We enjoy just going out and getting a few now and then, and really like the ones that take us to new places to explore and hike.

02/20/2007 at 4:07 pm #1770029Great to see geocaching take off in a big way in the La Crosse area. Lots of new cachers and a lot of new caches in that area. Wow!!! I had La Crosse county cached out to just 2 caches left undone last summer, and now there at least 50 new ones in the area. You La Crosse guys are awesome.
Time for me to return to the La Crosse area, it seems.

I know what you mean, we’ve given up hope of ever having our first two pages on the site checked off. We get close and then some more pop up! And we still haven’t started planting any of ours yet.
I’m glad it’s getting folks to explore our unique Driftless area, though. Does anyone have any idea how much money big caching events can impact an area? I know the birding world gathers this kind of information, like two years ago when everyone was heading up north to see Great Grey Owls. That kind of info can be helpful when promoting hobby events becomes an issue.
Vtwinspin, we did a mess of your caches this past couple days. You’ve provided us with a lot of fun! Thanks for all your effort.
03/22/2007 at 12:18 am #1770031Hi, I’m a Calfornia cacher transplanted to Northern Wisconsin. I’m up on da Big Lake. I’m a graphic designer, photographer and a geocoin and pin maker. Me and my sis want to put together a Geopizza Meet ‘n Greet. Anyone up here interested?
