Jeremy,
Sorry, but I had one of the co-ordinates for our “Summer Fun” cache incorrect. The listing up above is now correct. Sorry for making you update the map etc. twice.

08/19/2002 at 4:41 am #1750819The EasyGPS file and maps linked to above have been updated again… hopefully for the last time.
Ken, do you want to use the EasyGPS file I put together for downloading from your laptop to the GPS units? If so, could you (or someone else) double check the names and coordinates in this file…

Easy as pumpkin pie, so don’t let this one drive you batty.
N43 02.303′
W88 23.340′What are you fishing for?
N43 02.159′
W88 23.340′Note the two caches above have the same longitude, W88 23.340′. Is this correct? It seems like an amazing coincidence… and I want to get it straight before printing the cache sheets.

Yes, I plan to use your file. I just downloaded your latest version and checked the coordinates. They all looked good to me.08/19/2002 at 3:40 pm #1750822quote:

08/20/2002 at 4:14 am #1750823I’ll double check with Paul tomorrow but when he placed it, He gave me co-ordinates of N43º02.303 W88º24.125
08/20/2002 at 2:36 pm #1750824Thanks Mr. A.!
We’ve got everything ready to go to the printers, so the quicker we can get the co-ordinates verified or corrected, the better so we can get everything printed.
08/21/2002 at 1:52 am #1750825Sorry for the delay, The co-ordinates that MR Andersen gave you are correct. If I missed typed Im very sorry.
08/21/2002 at 1:54 am #1750826Sorry to say it looks like yawning dogs cache is very close to mine. As I wanted to hide it there also, but stayed away. Do I leave it?

I just updated the EasyGPS file and the maps linked to above with the corrected coordinates for “Easy As Pumpkin Pie”.
It turns out the “Easy As Pumpkin Pie” cache is almost right on top of Sam’s “They Only Come Out At Night” cache. (In fact, you can’t see the mark for “Easy As Pumpkin Pie” on the maps because they are so close.) But I think it is too late in the game to consider moving one of them… we have already delayed printing the cache sheets and the maps while we waited for the corrected coordinates. What do other people think?

08/21/2002 at 1:43 pm #1750829One option is to pull one of them. We do have a lot of caches out for the picnic.
08/21/2002 at 2:33 pm #1750830Witht he caches that close, we should take a pole at the end of the day to see who found the one the WEREN’T looking for before the one thay were. Since they are within the error of the GPSR you won’t know which you have found first until you open it to check the stamp.
-Arn08/21/2002 at 2:33 pm #1750831What if we make it a short multi-cache.
We could published the coordinates to one of the caches. Sunday morning we could move the 2nd cache a short distance away. Then put a note inside the main cache giving the location of the 2nd?
You would get credit for both.
Sounds kind of cheesy, but this way we could move it Sunday and not worry about affecting the cache sheets and other listings.
08/21/2002 at 2:46 pm #1750832At this point, I need to start printing everything out so I can leave for Brookfield to get everything printed.
So I’m making an executive decsion. The two caches will stay as they are and where they are so the current cache sheets will be accurate. I will however remove ‘Easy as Pumkin Pie’ from the maps as it can not be seen anyway.
For the future, we need to remember to check our individual caches on the posted maps so we can verify all is well.
