How would you hide a large cache in an urban micro cache environment?

The possibilities are pretty open with your question. Where ever I go to hide a cache, I look for what is in the area and what are good hiding places- that’s when I let my imagination run wild. I try to make all my hides different and entertaining.

There’s always the chance that the government will have perfected the cloaking device, decided it wasn’t expensive enough and released it for public use. That’d make things much easier.

I’ve ran across many larger containers in urban settings- some are attached as boxes on walls, ammo cans under light pole skirts (surprise) and a few others. Again, I’ll try and make it as unique of a hide as possible.

Closest urban environment to our house is 75 miles away (Green Bay) we did have a hide there a few years ago in a park, was a regular size container, It takes some time and scouting to find the right spot.

A large huh? Not even a regular sized one? I think a large would be pretty hard to hide in an urban area and make it a difficult hide (although I’m sure Ranger Boy could do it). So instead I’d just go with it and make it totally obvious, probably permanently attach it to something so the container wouldn’t be muggled, and check on it often to refill the swag. I’d probably put some sort of funky duct tape and possibly even elephant ears on it to make it fun.

I use to live in the Third Ward of Milwaukee while attending MIAD and I was always scooping out areas for good geocaches. It can be tricky in an urban environment especially with all the muggles around. Every now and then though my “geo senses” as I like to call them would start to kick in. It all comes down to taking the time to hunt for the perfect spot. I’ve found a few large urban containers in parks and under bridges etc.

A large? What it would look like and what it would be made of depends on the specific area. I would definitely want it right out in the open. Make ’em work for it.

I would take a lesson from Ranger Boy .. hide something right out in the open .. that obviously looks like it belongs there!

Hiding a large container out in the urban areas can be tricky. My best answer to this would be to get permission from a local establishment in which the container would match the surroundings.
