Speaking for myself, hiding caches is just as much fun as finding caches. When I do hide them I often imitate the masters. Waiting for others to hide caches that I know I will like is like waiting for the next bestseller by your favorite author.
I find myself eagerly awaiting the next Thorson Cache (of which there appears to be a new one and whose style I tend to imitate) and having nightmares over the next Natloh2 cache (his seem to challenge my caching skills to the max) but such fun nightmares they are. The clever Trudy & the Beast ones always make me smile and the technology of the Badlatitudes ones have made me stare in awe. One of the new stars appears to be Cashing Out – if you have not done Capture the Flag III you better add it to your list. Combining the story and the cache appears to be something Team Lotsacache has perfected. Making a complex series of caches has been mastered by Cheesehead Dave and Socko. Plus I have to mention the skill of Lil Otter who has a cache in St. Charles that has defeated many a cacher. How about the lessons in camoflauge we received from Cooney (inspired me to come up with some of mine) and something tells me we will all be talking about the Monopoly based caches by Wisearchers very soon.
While I love to hide em I have to admit that my incentive comes from the masters of the hide. I could go on and on raving about everyones caches but I hope to encourage our newer cachers to give it a try. You might find yourself inspiring someone else.
By the way, my children favor Thorson caches over mine – what kind of kids did I raise?

I completely agree – In fact, I leave Outlook open all day on the weekends with the speakers turned up so I can hear the “ding” of new emails from the GC site for a cache of mine.

One of the other challenges (in Milwaukee County at least) is finding a good spot to place a cache. I’ve been slogging through the mud the last few days checking out several places for my next cache placements, including one place that I can’t beleive hasn’t had a cache put in it yet (and is within the WI placement rules)…

Some of the other things I enjoy is when I complete a difficult or physically demanding cache, I put it on my watchlist – it’s fun reading about others who have shared my experiences on a particular cache.
