The comment under the title of this forum is ambiguous.
Is the camp out actually going to be at High Cliff, or is it being discussed?
12/22/2008 at 5:41 pm #1899196The preliminary event page:
http://www.wi-geocaching.com/modules.php?name=Events&EventID=224does list High Cliff state park as the location.

I’m not sure what is ambiguous about the forum description.
In any case, the location and date for the Geo-Campout were announced in the last (November) WGA email newsletter (you read it cover to cover, right Marc :)). I’ve posted a copy of that small article in this forum in case others missed it.
It will be at High Cliff… we’ve got permission from the park manager and group campsites and shelters have been reserved. We intend to complete detailed planning soon after the election of the new Board and the in-person Board meeting in February. At that time we’ll probably start accepting registrations, have a list of activities / schedule, etc.
12/22/2008 at 8:50 pm #1899198Yup, I read both covers. Did not see anything about high cliff.
12/22/2008 at 9:38 pm #1899199I am excited that the campout will be at High Cliff.
it is a very nice park to hike about in.BUT
everyone pray for an east wind to blow all the lakeflys to the western shore. (historically, the lakefly hatch occurs right around Mother’s Day. growing up on the shores of Lake Winnebago, I learned this early on).
just glad they don’t bite

12/23/2008 at 12:10 am #1899200I remember going through that fly hatch once back in the early ninties. Them things were driving me nuts. Not to mention the houses that were black with them. I could easily deal with some extra clothes if need be due to what would be a cold wind. I’m up for it though. I hope my schedule will be too.
12/23/2008 at 12:55 am #1899201This is my favorite Wisconsin park and where I found my first Geo-cash. I will make every effort to make it to this event….lord knows I’m in the area enough…. If you’re on the fence about attending, do come as the park is awesome.
