Does anyone know of, or have a contact who can get higher res satellite photos? I’m sure the feds probably have better than what mapquest (which has been the best I’f found) shows somewhere…
I’m not talking like count the pine cones on a particular branch better, but just closer in/better res.

The USAF has them, but first you will have to get past the guards with authorization to use lethal force….
I have to agree with Rsplash, Mapquest seems to have the best satallite photos, to a lower altitute than say….Google which can’t even, well let’s just say they can’t.
I would think that there are better ones out there but I bet they cost $$$.
at least with mapquest, you can see individual cars in a parking lot.

You might check with you local county forestery office or DNR office as they have satellite photos . I know some countys have images on their websites land parcels. I’m drawing a blank as to what office that would be…..Land Records? 😕 911 corrdinater?
Zoning, Land use, GIS, etc. online the have some cool stuff but the overhead maps are useful for general stuff but I think MQ is still better.
I’m also looking to go further north, not much info on them.

Windows Live maps use the same aerial photos as Mapquest, but also has(in some areas) even better coverage with a birds eye view mode. In this mode you can this mode you can view a location from a 4 different angles, from what looks like very low altitude aerial photo(think google street view from the air).
