Congratulations to Bonnie and Jeff and the Hotdogs on find #1000 at Thompson’s Butte GCF416. This was a return visit to a cache that eluded them the previous attempt. A great choice for a milestone cache hidden in 2003 and now found only 28 times.
10/04/2010 at 11:27 am #1936844Congratulation to all four of you! I know you’d wanted that one, glad you could make it. (Our plans to get out there keep getting waylaid).
10/04/2010 at 12:42 pm #1936845Glad you wiped the DNF off the list! Nice view, but no trees! 😀
Welcome to the 1K Klub! (Don’t ask about the keys). 😉
10/04/2010 at 12:48 pm #1936846Congratulations Hotdogs!!
Sounded like a satisfying adventure. Good thing you DNF’d it in ’03 😀Disclaimer : Always answering to a higher power.

10/04/2010 at 2:26 pm #1936848Congratulations, HotDogs! Had to go back to read that DNF in the logs… Looks like the original hot dogs from that one are no longer around, but maybe they sent that guy in the pick-up to help you reach your milestone goal. Nice place for #1000. Had lots of meaning for you.
10/04/2010 at 2:35 pm #1936849Congrats on the memorable milestone, and your perseverance! Wow, what a long wait and great choice! Well done! 8)

10/05/2010 at 2:34 am #1936852congrats on the 1k finds.
Looked like a very enjoyable cache to find.10/05/2010 at 2:37 am #1936853Wow, great cache for the big milestone! Team Family Affair puts out some good ones. Must have been incredibly satisfying to take a classic cache off of the DNF list. Looking forward to seeing you on the trails again soon.
10/07/2010 at 3:26 am #1936854Thanks to all who noticed. We had a great time in the Badlands, Buffalo Natl Grasslands, and Black Hills. I think we still have 10 pounds of back road dust in the van and trailer from South Dakota.
It was an absolutely beautiful day, begining with the buffalo for breakfast. I could not believe that pickup truck coming by just when we needed a lift. It would have been over 10 miles if he hadn’t showed up.
360 degree view from the top and just felt so good to e there after fixating on that cache for 7 years. If you want a challange in that area, try a Team Family Affair cache.
Thanks again!! It was worth it.
