    Hi

I would like to host a geocaching event, and I’m not sure how to go about it, and would like some help with the arrangements.

    The particulars are:

August 2 (assuming I can rent the pavillion that day)
    Elm Grove Park
    Event Cache –

As I mentioned on a differnet post a few days ago…

I have a cache to set up that includes 19 waypoints, and is all based on the theme of Monopoly. Geocaching teams would start at “GO” (the pavillion) and shake a dice to see which of six places to go. one might go to jail, another to a chance spot, another to another spot on the board where you need to shake a die again, etc.

Every waypoint is an actual regular cache – not a micro, and at every waypoint, there is a cool little card that looks like a monopoly card, with the instructions for the next spot.

If by chance you get to every spot in the “right” order, you can find the final (Boardwalk) in 6 moves.

I was thinking of starting each team 5 minutes apart, then have the teams record when they get to the final, and give a prize for the fastest to find. (maybe a monopoly game?)

Also, EVERY waypoint has one number for a Bonus waypoint coordinate – so, if you get to all the waypoints, you can find the bonus final. The most “important” numbers are at the sites where you would least likely to get to in the normal game.

Anyway – I was hoping to do this as an event, and there has been a little interest in the forum for it, but I’m not sure what help I can get from wi-geocaching to get it organized. I will do all the set up of the cache, and in the end, some of the waypoints will become permanant caches.

thanks in advance for any help.
