Number of cachers with over 1000 finds (from selective places):

    438 Europe
    437 California
    193 Germany
    128 Texas
    126 Washington
    107 Ohio
    91 Florida
    76 United Kingdom
    74 Tennessee
    74 Illinois
    67 Pennsylvania
    65 Wisconsin
    60 New York
    58 Netherlands
    57 Onatrio
    57 Arizona
    40 Massachusetts
    37 Australia

Interesting, considering the populations, land areas, etc.

    Interesting indeed!

Wisconsin appears very well represented. Just looking at the numbers, the number with over 1k is going to go way up this year. It is heartening that we seem to be a friendly bunch — I’ve really enjoyed running into other cachers on the trail.

The two places that jump out are Holland and Tennessee. Consider how little public land they have in the Netherlands.

Hey Marc 5 digits… How many in Hawaii and Alaska??

    #1872684

Alaska = 4, Hawaii = 3. Lots of geocachers in Alaska, but the cache are much farther apart than we are used to here. Not that many cachers in Hawaii.

You can check your self by clicking on the Grand High Pobah link on the left side of the page.

Thanks for letting us know where to look! And here I thought only Marc 5 digits had access to this “valuable” information. 😉
