Okay, so here’s what happened today. This afternoon, I receive a notification that someone had found one of my caches. However, when I read their note, they stated, “No go today – will try again.” To me, that would seem to indicate that they did not actually find the cache. Granted, I have no doubt in my mind that this cacher made the attempt, but it looks like another DNF. As a cache owner, is there a way to change such a log to a DNF?

You can send them a friendly email explaining how to change their log to a DNF. The other two options are to delete their log or just let it go.

The friendly email works on us 🙄 …… Recently logged a DNF, BUT, erroneously selected ‘found it’ when we made the log……….embarrassing 😳 😳 😳

I’ve done the log of shame as well and just corrected when it was pointed out. As a CO I’ve done the same thing by sending the cacher a quick note. Generally I play the innocent party by saying something like, “I noticed you logged a “Found it” on cache XYZ, but I think you posted a DNF note from one of your others of the day. Just wanted to make you aware in case you wanted to check your notes.”
