I went onto the website earlier today, but cannot seem to get onto it tonight. I wonder if anyone out there knows what is going on ? I have shut down my computer, unplugged my modem, etc., etc., and other sites like this one come up, but not “our” site !!! 🙁

Yup! GC.com had claimed yet another!
Sound like the GC is down for the night as they are relocating their servers.

It is actually pretty common for geocaching.com to have availability problems. You will find that this website has much better up-time overall, thanks to our fancy web server and omnipresent webmaster.

As Cheezehead said, it will be OK. Unfortunately, now that you are into geocaching, all other interests have been abandoned, and you don’t know what to do when the main site is down. Just go to bed and pretend it was all a bad dream.

Besides, the WGA site is all you need anyway… 😉

It appears to be back up and running this morning. Hurrah ! 😀

And, yeah, I guess I’ve got geocaching in “my blood” now, hey? It is so much fun being a “real live treasure hunter”, ya know what I mean ?

to plan for the future … you should ….

(1) Once a week print off at least 24 hrs worth of cache pages.
(2) Put them in a fire proof safe.
(3) Repeat on a weekly basis.

… this gives you a fall back plan.

Back up again. When it was down recently, the notice I got was something like “This site doesn’t exist.” Geocaching doesn’t exist????
