Wondering if anybody has ever had this happen?? I have had this happen to me numerous times, But yesterday was a classic!!!
I was caching with Marc_54140, AstroD-Team, and Team Honeybunnies. All of a sudden, my phone Voicemail alert went off.
Phone never rang, so I went ahead and dialed the voice mail, and After the normal Preamble, where it says the phone number that called, and the time, it went into this really interesting sound… Sounded like someone walking. This went on for over Five Minutes, Could hear some Bird Chirpings, and some sticks cracking under Feet! We were all Laughing!
Funny thing, is this was a Well Known Female Cacher from Southeastern, WI!! But this Queen, Will remain Nameless..
We all had a good Laugh though while hearing the Playback of the message. Just glad that she didn’t Cuss us out, or worse…..
Wondering if anybody has had this happen? And if so, Did you know who it was, and did they say anything Incriminating????
06/02/2009 at 3:11 am #1908987Got a voicemail like that from my daughter once. She was over 21 for the 5 minutes of bar talk that I listened to! Made for a good conversation a few days later.
But my daughter is no Busch Queen! 😀06/02/2009 at 3:45 am #1908988Fortunate for that quick paced woman placing the call she didn’t use any choice words or break something other than a stick 😉 Polska Queen butt/hip called you? 😉
You must have been reading my mind K0RPL as this happened to me as recent as tonight and I wasn’t even caching! My phone does this all the time! 😯
Now I know the first thing I should do is NOT cache with my phone on my hip as I you can lose or drop your phone (as I did this past weekend–on a JimandLinda hide). 🙄
Any suggestions on how to prevent such an occurrence. I mean I’m sure some people like to receive those calls as they could prove to be a great laugh…. 😛
I lock my keyboard but that can (and did) lead to a 911 emergency call as my phone gives an option of unlock or emergency call.
I’ve called family members that I haven’t spoken to in over a year by this oops and cachers in far away places (sorry AbbysGrammy, BGT, Green & Gold…the list is endless) to name a few.
And if it is fixable if it does occur the question is: do you leave a message, if you hear the voice do you just hang up and not acknowledge the call, AND/OR if they call back (and they have) do you pick up and play stupid? ❓
06/02/2009 at 4:13 am #1908989I got Hip Dialed by Lone Gunman this past weekend. The funny part is that he was about ten feet away at the time.

So does that mean you two are practically joined at the hip?
06/02/2009 at 1:02 pm #1908991Yup, Marc/Wheezer/paprdoll did it to me, not sure who’s phone but heard all 3 of them working on a cache of mine then walking back to the car.

I got a call from you, but (butt) when I answered, all I heard was loud music!
Butt, butt, butt….

06/07/2009 at 3:47 pm #1908997About a year ago I unknowingly “pocket” dialed my friend Curly Girl while rooting around for a cache over on the Lake Michigan shore. I heard this voice saying “Hello? Hello?” and thought it was someone approaching on the nearby trail. After I hastily rehid the cache, I realized it was my pocket talking, and I had a chance to wish my friend a Happy Birthday!
