Got this message this morning:
btw, i got my 500th FTF this morning at 0805, so I got
that monkey off my back…..Jeez, I sprinted from 350
to 495, but had a hell of time getting the last 5.
Glad to score #500 this morning, operating on no sleep
at all yesterday. Now: Must Sleep.Well, congratulations on 500 FTFs Ralph! Sleep like a baby……
11/28/2007 at 4:17 pm #1881576Congrats Ralph on FTF #500! What’s a little missed sleep over breaking the trail for an FTF?! Been there and sleep better AFTERWARDS! Well done!
11/28/2007 at 5:18 pm #1881577So…….what cache ended up being the lucky #500, anyway?
Congratulations on one heck of an impressive milestone, Ralph! Finally!
11/28/2007 at 6:00 pm #1881578Big thumbs up Ralph! Not really a milestone until you hit 1,000 of them though 😯 …

11/28/2007 at 11:23 pm #1881582Hi all,
Thanks for the comments. I came to the FTF virus late in the game, and really only started going out for them in earnest about a year and a half ago. Given that, I understand some folks dont really care about FTFs, since I was once in the same boat.
But for me, it adds another layer to the onion, and keeps the game fresh and kind of exciting. During the summer, and early fall, the FTFs were falling in bunchs, often with 4 – 8 per day, and sometimes more, and hardly ever having a day without a FTF. For whatever reason, once I got close to 500, lady luck smiled the other way, and I had bunchs of near misses on FTFs, and days when I could go cachin and the nearest unfound cache was a hundred miles away. I also had days in Wausau, La Crosse, Hayward and Superior watching and hoping caches would be published nearby, only to have none published until I got home.
Anyway, I was glad to get the 500th FTF this morning. I am working nights this week, and saw it come out last night at work. Despite zero sleep yesterday, I went out and grabbed it right after work. Bonus was the cache was in a great spot, and I would have enjoyed it even without the FTF.
Anyway, thanks for the comments. I am making my personal list of FTFs public for a week or so, for those who are curious where they were.

11/29/2007 at 12:21 am #1881584What a story, Ralph! You have kept us in suspense for a little while now wondering when you would hit the magic spot! Now, it is time for some much deserved sleep. So, sleep . . . . sleep . . . . . sleep . . . .
And leave some of those FTFs for the rest of us!!!!
Congratulations!
