Thanks to all that have sent me or posted some caches for this list.
09/12/2007 at 11:53 am #1878810Wasn’t there a cache in Wisconsin that asked you to hike any section of the Ice Age Trail and for your log you would put the starting and finishing coords for the section you hiked?
I can’t remember what it was called but it had tons of usefull logs for getting I.A.T. waypoints. I remember it was located near Hartman Creek State Park.
09/12/2007 at 12:32 pm #1878811RE:WAUKESHA COUNTY
The northern part of Waukesha county is not very difficult to assign, but the Kettle Moraine in the southern part of the county is a beast. Without coordinates, eyeballing and mapping out where caches are placed in regards to the trail is really difficult.I hope to have a list in a few days and I will post it here. I hope that one or more people could go through the list and help to add / throw out caches that are missing or wrong.
😕

That was the old locationless cache Ice Age Trail Hike Loghttp://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=252ac404-c286-400c-9119-cf5c587fe04d.
Might be useful, might not. It’ll be fun to see the final results. As fast as they’re coming out, I wouldn’t be surprised if you quickly need a second bookmark.

Right, RangerBoy. It was a locationless cache and I think it was called Ice Age Trail.
On waymarking.com there’s a waymark type for Ice Age Trail, with a few listings: http://www.waymarking.com/cat/details.aspx?f=1&guid=70746aee-4296-430b-aafc-dee849f5f652&lat=43.5237&lon=-88.214&t=6&exp=True

Now it’s up to someone else to put in some time on this bookmark if they think the project worthy; pick a county…..
I think when this is done I will set out a cache and anyone who has logged a certain number of caches would be able to log it. I will call it ” Wisconsin Ice age Trail: The fabulous 50s”…or something clever….or well….something…or Maybe four caches:
Wisconsin IAT 25 (Bronze) -Micro cache
Wisconsin IAT 50 (Silver) -Small cache
Wisconsin IAT 75 (Gold) -Full size cache
Wisconsin IAT 100 (Platinum) -Large Cache-Cheers

My cache is along the green trail at Scuppernong, but the Ice Age Trail intersects near one of my waypoints.
Note: That is quite an impressive list you came up with LostBy7!
09/18/2007 at 1:13 pm #1878820Team Sloughfoot has at least 6 caches along the IAT, some are part of “The trail of the serpent” series.
