How does one go about including a picture in the body of a cache’s page on geocaching.com? Recently, I’ve noticed some really well done cache write ups. I would imagine it has something to do with html? Help?!
09/28/2007 at 8:34 pm #1879463I’m too “swamped” at the moment for full instructions on the actual HTML code part … but the starting steps, which you might as well already do:
(1) In the Cache Edit page, check the check box to allow HTML, that needs to be “on”.
(2) Upload the picture to the caches page, or the picture needs to be uploaded somewhere else (ie. another website). This will not work if the picture is simply on your OWN computer, it needs to be on the world wide web (either geocaching.com or some other website).
(3) They involved part of adding the HTML code to your caches page … I hope to get back to you later, or someone else will … but in the mean time do steps 1 and 2.

Obviously, replace the URL with the proper location.
If you store the image at photobucket.com or imageshack.us, (or probably other hosting sites) they will actually give you the proper HTML code that you can just copy and paste into your cache page.
09/28/2007 at 9:45 pm #1879465Ok, I’ve got a Photobucket account, and have my picture uploaded there. I cut and paste the html script from there to my cache page, but now the body of the cache page is all funny, the words are all jammed together and the picture isn’t where I want it to be. More help? 😀

Is it this: “Winona’s Second Annual CITO Festival”?
Send me the long (and short discription if you use it) and I can edit it for you.09/28/2007 at 10:46 pm #1879467I figured it out. Another cacher gave me a link named ‘HTML for Dummies’… it fit me well. Thanks for the help!! 😀
