Some time ago we came across a virtual cache in Indiana that took you to a giant chess board. Thinking that was pretty cool, Carole wrote it down on her list of things that would be cool to do.

Well, now we’re planning a road trip that will take us through Indiana and we’re wondering where that darn thing is.

Does it sound familiar to anyone?

I did a search for Indiana virtuals and got 4 pages worth. I looked at the cache pages for quite a few of them (ones that sounded like they might be “it”) but nothing seems to match what you’re describing…not in the logs, descriptions, or photos anyway.

Was it a multi of some sort possibly?

      Tim –

You might want to post the question in their forum?

Thanks Thennig and J.A.K. We, too, have done a search. I just posted on the IN forums.

Found it! Thanks to all who helped. I finally remembered how we stumbled upon it–we were looking at Otter’s photo gallery. It’s “The Touchables” and it is a virtual. We actually had found it right away, but the picture didn’t resemble what we remembered.

‘Not sure if I included that correctly, but that’s the site if you’re interested.

Funny- that’s one of the ones that I had looked at- I liked the “Odd Couple” pictures people have posted- I’m kind of surprised there isn’t a mention of the chessboard in the logs (although I didn’t read them all….).

Something else to watch for in Indiana!!

The state’s NEWEST(!!) highest point will be a garbage heap.

            See the details here:
            Das Heap
