International EarthCacheâ„¢ Day
Sunday 12 October 2008
“Help us celebrate Earth Science Week by being involved in EarthCaching on the 3rd International EarthCache Day. Visit an EarthCache with friends, create a new Earthcache or run a training session or event about EarthCaching. “
How are we going to celebrate EarthCache day? I was thinking about waiving the photo requirement for one week from the 12th to the 18th. I’d post a note on each of my ECs a few days prior to the date….thoughts?
Possible text for the note:
“In celebration of International EarthCache week I will be waiving the photo requirement on all of my EarthCaches for one week. To qualify for this special logging event you must log your find from Oct 12th to the 18th. No logs without a photo will be accepted if posted after the 18th (even if you back date the find). Now get out and explore your world!”
If anyone wishes to join this campaign please feel free to use the same text….
I gathered information for two different possible ECs the other day. Hopefully I’ll get approval from land managers, though of course that might mean they don’t publish during EC week. Still, creating new ones for others to find is a celebration of sorts!
Publications seem to be taking longer these days…where I had normally gotten my ECs published in 2-3 days I have been hearing people waiting well over a week lately…

It was two weeks for me. Then they wanted changes – which I did. So now I’m waiting again for final approval.
