In case you’re in central Wisconsin this weekend, we will be giving a short geocaching class at Roche-A-Cri State Park (just south of the intersection of Highways 21 and 13) on Saturday, July 17, at 2:00 p.m. for about an hour. GC2A5BJ

If you are new to geocaching or if you want to help out those in attendance who are, or if you want to look for some area caches and stop by to say “hi”, join us at the park shelter and bring your receiver(s).

Whether any newbies show up or not, there will be cookies and story-swapping for all of those in attendance anyway. No new caches in the park will be available in time for this event, just practice ones for instructional use. Sorry. But there are 14 caches there already if you haven’t found them all yet. 😀

Just a note: WI State Park pass required (annual, daily, one-hour)

        We like cats.

        I’m afraid of cats…..

Not really, but I won’t be able to make this event as other engagements in Appleton prevent me from attending. We have a martial arts seminar over at Derk’s Park.

So, someone else will have to take the singing duties 😀

More of a dog guy myself, though Black Cats are OK.

Love going to RAC, but I will have to wait til the Picnic to go there. Big plans to cache in the UP this weekend.

Gram’s mom is moving from an Appleton duplex to one in Darboy Saturday. We’ll be tied up with that all day. But I’m glad we bumped in to the Sandlanders at one of our caches yesterday, it was good to be able to visit for a few minutes!

Thank Goodness! Now we might have some decent weather for it! 😉

Glad to have had your help there last year, though, Pete. 8)

Most definitely. Blue cougars, black cats…
And every species is welcome at the event.

So as part of the Oshkosh Library Summer Reading program, my boys each got a day pass to a State Park, so my husband and I are considering this for Sat afternoon for at least him and the older son. It would be good to meet others and perhaps pick up some pointers that we newbies haven’t figured out on our own.

Till the tornado warning sirens went off! 😯
But it was great to see you, too, Jim.

Definitely come, any or all of you! Come early and pick up a lot of the caches nearby and in the park, bring a picnic lunch, cache some more, then stop in for the event, eat some cookies, meet some other cachers, then go caching some more.

And it’s always nice to get input from newbies, who often bring up things that more experienced cachers overlook, and who often have quite a few stories of their own to tell.

just don’t find them all, you need to leave some for the Picnic in September

Maybe there will be more by September…
And the picnic is all about the good times together, caching or not.
                  And the cookies.
