My GPSr died. All the functions seem to work except it doesn’t see any satellites. Worked on Tuesday and dead on Thursday. Can they be fixed? I really can’t afford a new one just now. I had a Garmin Emap.

I’m sure that if you send it into the manufacture they would be more than happy to fix it for about the price of a new one. 😕
I would take it that the warranty is no long any good?
Good luck – Hopefully someone knows a company or person that can evaluate your GPSr for very cheap price.
I bought it in 2001. Even if it had a 5 year warranty (I have no idea) I am out of luck.

I had the same thing happen to a GPS receiver that I plugged in to my PocketPC CF slot – all of a sudden stopped receiving for no apparent reason. Out of warranty so I didn’t fix or replace. Did you try shaking, slapping and or kicking it? 😉
If it’s the eMap you spoke of on the “For Sale” forum, there’s no way you’ll get any repair at a price less than buying one on eBay.
Make sure your read my “suggested fix attempt” on your “For Sale” forum entry … http://wi-geocaching.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5961
Disregard my post.
EnergySaver managed to fix it for me so I no longer need one.
