As much as I’d like to say this was about caching in Hawaii (still thinking about my conversation with huffinpuffin2 earlier today), I’m looking for info on more local islands…
As someone with no kayak or small portable boat, I’m thinking this might be the time to try and pick up a few island caches (at least the ones where the ice freezes enough to walk across). Does anyone know if there is a bookmark for island caches in WI?

Would not be surprised if you have just found yourself a great opportunity to build such a list, right here. ( I smell a book deal, or at least a blog opportunity!)
Let me offer up this one: GC1C5J0 , ‘Voight Island’ in downtown Hortonville.

I’d be willing to come along to.

Little bit of a go from the boat landing, circle around the island and go up the hill instead of going up by the old cabins:
Check ice conditions before attempting to drive on the lake!
01/02/2010 at 7:10 am #1919443I found Osprey Island: Ducks Redux today. Very enjoyable trek across the ice.
I plan on finding Deep Blue this coming week.
Along with the other caches listed, that should give you a good start.

01/02/2010 at 12:56 pm #1919445Well, who is going to bookmark these caches?

I would never ever approach this cache on foot. There will never be a time that the fox river in this area is safe.
You are best hunting this one in a watercraft when it’s warm.
Stay safe out there island cachers!
