I was just gifted an old Palm IIIe. Now what do I do with it?
I have GSAK, I’ll have to get cachemate. How do I put it all together?04/05/2006 at 9:26 pm #1741270The usual way! It’s like putting on a pair of pants – one leg at a time…..
A lot of cachers find out, through trial and error. It’s a greatway to learn a lot about the program or equipment you are working with.

04/06/2006 at 1:48 am #1741271To be just a little more helpful , here’s the site where I learned how to go paperless. It’s for Plucker and Spinner (not GSAK and Cachemate) but at least it gives you a how-to to get you started.

04/06/2006 at 3:23 am #1741272Here’s an article that deals with GSAK and cachemate that many have found useful:

* * * * * * * * * *04/06/2006 at 6:03 am #1741273Marc and I would be glad to answer your questions one on one. I speak for myself, but I’m sure he would agree.
Yes, Cachemate is the most logical next choice and I assure you that you will want it to be registered. 10 caches maximum is not cool! I could let you use my Palm V for a short time to show you the virtues.

Thanks for your help. I have cachemate now and did get it figured out. Thanks for the trial and error tip, Marc. Anyway I’ll be set up for paperless by the end of the month. Of course I will try earlier that that.
With that being said, “I will be coming to a hidden piece of tupperware near you”Hemi
04/06/2006 at 6:16 pm #1741276FYI: I’m planning to host another free paperless training end of the month (Saturday April 29th). I’m just checking on availablity of the facility, and then I’ll submit the event cache.
I know that there is another WI event planned for this day… but this is the only
day we really have available until June. But don’t worry, I’m sure we will continue
to periodically host these as long as there is interest. We also plan on making
our handouts available on a web page as well.[This message has been edited by NSLP#1 (edited 04-06-2006).]
04/08/2006 at 8:42 pm #1741277Got out with the palm today and did a bit of caching. Darn that makes life easier. Why did I wait this long? Now if I had wireless capability I could just get my PQ right into it. Well one thing at a time.
