2011 WGA Winter Bonfire and Chili Feed
This winter has been especially rough for geocaching (unless you live in the far southeastern corner) what with serious snowfall, followed by drastic meltdowns and deep wind chills. Plan to laugh at winter by attending the Second Ever Winter Bonfire and Chili Feed on February 26. This event will again take place at the UW-Waukesha Field Station near Waterville. Check out the details on the cache page and get your reservations in early, as attendance is limited due to space concerns. See you there!

2011 WGA Board of Directors Elections
It’s time again to select leaders to take the Wisconsin Geocaching Association forward. Nominations have already begun and the Candidates Corner has been created in the forums. Each candidate creates their introduction thread. Members may address questions directly to a candidate in their forum thread, or may pose a general question by starting a topic in that forum. Those topics are not intended for general membership discussion, but for responses from the candidates only. Our election monitors this year will be Brian Kling (Team Black Cat), Dave Secondino (Team Deejay) and Pete Quella
(labrat). Take some time to get to know the people who have stepped forward, willing to commit a considerable amount of time and energy to helping make the Wisconsin Geocaching Association a great one.New Year’s Resolutions?
Although we will be selecting our new Board members in the next couple of months, anyone who is a member of the WGA can make a contribution to help the organization continue to advance the sport in the Badger State. There are many opportunities for members to help out. Articles of interest for our newsletter, membership on one of our committees, which are all empowered committees, lending a hand at one of the many events we sponsor: all of these require people power. The WGA is all of us, and many hands make light work. Make a resolution to offer up your hand this year; it will be a resolution worth keeping, one that gives back to the entire state geocaching community.
