06/12/2005 at 4:36 pm #1738093Great photo work Tie!!
06/13/2005 at 1:46 am #1738094Tie…we saw when we posted our plans to attend, that there were only 6 other teams listed on the cache page. The question is this, are the first 20 teams to sign up for the give-away getting the jeeps for the first hide, or is it going to be a first come first served basis? It would stink to have been the 1st to sign up, but the 21st in line because of a 10:00 arrival instead of a 9:00 or 9:30. Please advise…Thanks!

06/13/2005 at 2:36 am #1738097What…. You don’t want to come out and just chat? We’ll be discussing geocaching….
Anyway…..The way I figure it, the first 20 teams to post a “Will Attend” note will have Jeeps reserved for them.
At 11:00, if teams with reserved Jeeps haven’t shown up, the Jeeps will be given away to teams that do show up but don’t have one of the 20 reserved. I’ll probably have a waiting list set up for any teams that show up without a Jeep reserved.
06/13/2005 at 10:53 am #1738098geo will be there to chat. i’ll tag along and hold the white jeep travel bug. i’d be there to chat, too, but i’m shy.
thanks for the info!
06/13/2005 at 1:20 pm #1738099I am trying to spread them out around the state. I’m having some faithful volunteers starting some in / near the following cities: Manitowoc, Appleton, Madison, Eau Claire, Eagle River, Superior. I’m also trying to represent where the concentrations of the geocachers are with how I spread them out. So, it looks like for LaCrosse, Madison or Eau Claire are going to be the closest.
06/13/2005 at 8:23 pm #1738100PUT this all in the correct perspective.
THEM Jeeps are just pieces of metal & plastic.
ALL of us will get a chance to see one.
IN due time they will work there way to you.
MY how we all get so excited about toys.
CACHES are more important than Jeeps!(Caution: You’ve just been exposed to a subliminal message!)
06/13/2005 at 9:56 pm #1738101I am very upset that you are not senting any to the LaCrosse area. There are several caches and cachers in this area. So in the eyes of the WGA the Southwest corner does not rank high enough to be blessed with a jeep? You can put out 20 in the Milwaukee area and many more in eastern cites, but could not even spare one or two for this part of the state. Maybe there should be a new system for putting out the jeeps like a lottery so ALL cachers have a fair chance of getting one. I would love to hear comments from cachers in other forgotten areas.

There will be new Jeeps in the caches in your area!

I think odds are almost as good for me (living in Waukesha/Jeferson county) to see one as for you to see one. If we see one we see one. It’s a shame Jeep couldn’t just make 20,000 Jeeps but then what fun would that be; where’s the adventure?

You’re about as shy as I am! (Maybe we can sit in the corner and be shy together…LOL!!!) Hope you had your feet up when you typed that!

(Wow, I typed that w/ a straight face)
If you look 3 posts North of yours you will see where Tie posted that LaCrosse is in fact one of the areas chosen. I’m paraphrasing but this is what I saw in the post from 6-13-2005 8:20 AM: “So, it looks like for LaCrosse, Madison or Eau Claire are going to be the closest.”As for the Milwaukee comment, have you looked at the profiles of those going in to pick up the bugs? There are those who will be driving as much as 2 hours to get there so…calm down! The state will be represented well. Some states don’t do what Tie does…some states just have a couple of people dropping the bugs off in caches and letting them spread on their own.
I for one would like to thank Brian for his efforts!
