Here is my first now that I have an account.
02/26/2014 at 6:35 pm #1974314Don’t forget that deer puzzle from before you were Labrat’s city cousin, BBG… the deer puzzle that may or may not have a deer in it! 😯
02/27/2014 at 2:08 am #1974315How have I not noticed that little button that shows you an image of the puzzle before?!?! That would really speed things up!

Makes a nice change from kitties, flowers, cupcakes, and scantily clad female figures. Thanks, BBG.
And I do NOT use the ghost or the photo or any PEDs to get low times. However, I wouldn’t doubt that all of my countless hours at the computer have helped improve my eye-hand coordination. 😉

I was wondering what software/application you use to resize the images to create the puzzles?
My picture files are too big to “create” and the software I am using does a poor job. I am not happy with the image quality.
02/27/2014 at 9:48 pm #1974321Here’s where having a Mac might pay off. 😀
I don’t know what is available for PCs, but I have all of my pics in iPhoto. When I want to use any photos elsewhere, like for cache logs, emails, Facebook… and puzzles… I use my export function, which gives me the option to resize my photos before exporting. Then they show up where I want in a more reasonable size.
And my photos never show up in the forums as too frickin’ huge!

02/27/2014 at 10:06 pm #1974323BBG I use Faststone Image Viewer to resize pictures. It’s free. And it not only is one of the best image viewer/organizers (and my default image viewer for my thousands of pictures), but it does the following:
1. Resizes pictures
2. Batch rename files (e.g. change names of 30 pictures all at once from IMG_3572 etc. to Highcliff_01, Highcliff_02, etc.)
3. Draw lines, circles, etc. on images
4. Write text on top of photo
5. Change timestamp on photos or groups of photos with correct time/date
6. Adjust timestamp to compensate for time zone differences (e.g. If Kim and I both took pictures on a vacation, but my camera was off by 2 hours from hers, I could change all my pictures +- 2 hours so they would be synched with hers)
7. Change color saturation, lighting, etc.
8. Clone in or out distracting objects (such as giving a face a 3rd eye, or eliminating a sign or person in the background)
9. Add borders and special effects
10. Crop, sharpen or blur images
11. View images sorted by date, size, name, etc.
12. Brighten the dark pixels in a picture without altering the medium and light pixels (highly recommended tool). Example:Turn this:
into this:
I can hardly believe it’s free! Been using it for a few years now.
