Hi! My name is Jim Peterson, but I’m better known in the geocaching community as Big Jim or Big Jim 60. I found my first geocache in November, 2009. For the first few years I cached at a brisk pace, reaching 3000 finds within three years. Since then I’ve slowed down a little each year. By the end of 2019 I should be at 7000 finds. I’ve seen a lot of changes to the game in the past ten years, both from HQ and from the way people play the game. I love caches that take you to a unique destination, on a hike in the woods, or that showcase the talents of the cache creator. I’m not a big fan of park and grabs and power trails.
I have served on the WGA board for the past two years, the last year as treasurer. I’ve enjoyed the relationships that I’ve developed with other board members and general members of the WGA over the years, and look forward to serving the organization for another term, if elected.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
