Greetings from East Central Wisconsin!
The Jim half of JimandLinda has accepted the nomination for the WGA Board of Directors.
We have been geocaching since August of 2007, using the “hunt” to rehab my knee after surgery. Some 3500+ finds later (and 300+ hides), we’re still at it! The Linda half is less active, since her knee isn’t “fixed” yet.
We live in Rosendale, America’s Speed Trap. I work as a benefits coordinator for an insurance company and Linda is employed by Fond du Lac County.
I am looking forward to meeting many of you, as well as doing alot of listening to your comments and ideas on the changes that will be coming in the future. If the sport is to grow, it will need to adapt! Contacting your elected Board Member with input is vital to any Association.
I have served in leadership positions in the past, from Technical School Advisory Board to Stockholders Board, and in advisory positions with youth groups. Although past experience doesn’t guarentee future results, I hope that my experience in a variety of roles can add to the quality of the WGA, and I look forward to serving in the best capacity possible.
A few ideas that may be worth exploring would be:
-dividing the state into districts to help concentrate membership growth in specific areas.
– forming a WGA youth association to encourage leadership roles in the younger members.
– hosting more WGA sponsored workshops combining the outdoors/technical aspects of geocaching.
Feel free to post your comments/input to me, either publicly here, or privately in a pm.
I would appreciate your support in this election.
