When we started caching in June 06, within 50 miles of our home coordinates, not quite 25 full pages of cache listings were available to us. When I just looked without filtering our finds, there are almost a full 79 pages of caches in the same radius.
I’m sure this is typical in many areas. Just wondering if others have done something similar. We’re talking over 1000 more caching opportunities than when we first started and there were not quite 500 total.
When we started ( 2004 ) I remember “clearing out” the local caches in a month … then noticing I had to go farther than 10 miles (I hated driving) to find ANY caches … right now there are 142 caches that I have not found with 10 miles of me. Granted we’ve slowed down a lot and my leg has been out of commission for a couple months … but when we started I bet if you included my caches and ones that I did find, there was only about 30 or so total in that range.
