Being quite new to paperless cacheing I was wondering if you can hotsync the PDA back to GSAK and log the finds right from GSAK?

If you are running CacheMate on your Palm, then yes, it is possible and I do it all the time. You can’t automatically make the logs on geocaching.com (unless you create a REALLY smart macro ), but in GSAK you can get a listing of the caches you marked as found in CacheMate, as well as have access to the find date/time and any log text you put in the Palm. From there, you can just right click on each cache, go to “Custom URL” and “Log cache”.
In GSAK, go to the File menu and click “Load CacheMate logs and finds”. If you click on the “Help” button on the dialog box that appears you’ll get some fairly complete instructions on how to do it.
Unfortunately there is an extra step required. After syncing you need to run a utility to create a GPX file from your CacheMate Palm database (CM2GPX). There is no GUI for this utility (it’s command line), and finding the right CacheMate database file can be pain if you have multiple ones. But I have a macro that automates the running of the CM2GPX utility and the import of the log data so it becomes just a one click operation.
Give it a shot and post back if you have any problems or questions. Once you see how it works and can do it manually, I can post or email you the macro to help automate the process.

I give UP on that thing!! Have not tried it in a while…maybe I’ll give it a go again and see what happens. Thanks goodness the Beta test run went a heck of a lot better than my paperless issues!! LOL
