04/29/2010 at 9:09 pm #1928190add to that waymarking.com, cito.com and wherigo.com…
Whitney Houston I believe we have a problem…
04/29/2010 at 9:28 pm #1928191Geocaching.com will be temporarily down for maintenance. We’ll tweet again when the site is back up! 1:45:44 PM
04/29/2010 at 9:46 pm #1928192Interesting… they have been putting up a “we’re down” page for the last few maintenance outages with a link to the forums. Wonder if they are updating the forums too so they didn’t bother with the message.
There’s been lots of “preview” posts on the GC.com website forum about what’s coming in this code release.
Max PQ’s expand from 500 to 1000 is one of the items with the new ability to direct download the PQ result file from the site rather than waiting for an email to deliver. This one is hidden on a post related to PQ’s and lackey’s started posting about the upcoming code release expanding PQ functionality and how it will work. PQ’s w/ results > 500 will not be sent via email and you will have to direct-download.
Icons for the 10Years! events is also being added. Too bad I can’t attend one 🙁

Pocket Query
Thanks! Your pocket query has been modified and currently results in 1000 caches. You can preview the search on the nearest cache page.I don’t see a direct download, so the functionality seems to be the same as it was. Time to redo all my PQs.
04/29/2010 at 11:38 pm #1928194First time we got stuck ‘in the wild’ phone-caching when there was no longer an answer on the other end. And then we found out there is other stuff to do besides geocaching. What the, huh?
Actually, on the upside, it forced us to dig away at a repeating DNF cache, where we knew all that was written about it, just not where the bloody thing was – and we finally found it! So we came out ahead in the deal. 8) 8)
04/29/2010 at 11:43 pm #1928195•If you change nothing about the way you use PQs you will not be affected by this change
•PQs requesting between 501-1000 caches will be available as a file download only, although we will still notify you by email when it is ready
•PQs with less than 501 caches will be emailed as attachments and available as a file download
•PQs will remain available for download a maximum of 7 days from the date it was generated
•My Finds PQs are no longer sent as email attachments, but will be available as a file download04/29/2010 at 11:53 pm #1928196@Team Black-Cat wrote:

There’s a tab there that says “Pocket Queries Ready for Download”. I ran a new one with 1000 results and the download link returns an error. Probably still working on it..

05/13/2010 at 12:52 pm #1928198GC.com isn’t down, but this is the closest thing to topic I could find. Just a question I wondered if anyone else experienced it, or how to fix it. It does not affect my use of the site at all.
At the top of the home page are the photos of cachers. I have enjoyed seeing them and reading the photo titles. But for a couple weeks, when I mouse over the pictures, one doesn’t give me a caption and the other just says Generic Small Banner. This happens before I log in and after.
So yeah, not at all important in the grand scheme of problems people have with the site. Just a little quirk that appeared suddenly and hasn’t gone away. I just liked reading the captions with the photos.
05/13/2010 at 12:58 pm #1928199I never noticed that before. I just checked and I don’t get any caption at all. The only problem I ever have is that after I log in and click on a cache, it tells me I need to log in to view it. So I log in again and everything is fine.
