I’ve just agreed to head up a men’s hiking club for our church men (and their friends/guests) … regular hiking, some geocaching, disc golf, etc … a couple questions …

I’m thinking the Mauthe Lake / Dundee / Long Lake / Zillmer’s Trail area would be good – (1) I know were entering hunting seasons, are any of those areas off limits to hunting? (2) What areas can support 3+ vehicles at the same time parking-wise?

Zillmer Trail has plenty of parking but you need a State Parks Sticker. Mauthe has a small lot on the west side of the lake, and another one down the road to the south, on the west side of the road. Again, State Park Stickers needed.
Pretty sure all areas are open to hunting, though. I cached around Mauthe Lake last November and saw several hunters along the public trails. Wear blaze orange no matter WHERE you hike during the deer season! ❗

    Happy hiking!! 😀

Just another note: those areas are popular archery and small game hunting areas. I would wear blaze orange now and I would remember those hunters are not required to wear blaze orange.
