If so, sorry, I pretty much play gc.com’s game, if the caches are not listed, I will not be interested in participating. If there are gc.com caches, then great–I will look forward to it.

10/19/2007 at 9:47 pm #1880413Seems to be a whole lot of events lately that are not listed on GC. I think that the people sponsoring these events are really missing their target audience.
I wonder if the WGA is not known well enough to attract these groups to inquire about events and the likes/dislikes of its membership. Perhaps we need to start to encourage people to list the WGA banner on their caches to get the word out that we exist?
…and yes I know I do not have a banner on my caches.
10/19/2007 at 10:40 pm #1880414Ralph, Yes, this is the one lagrac had some communications with. There is an old fishing buddy/coworker of Trekkin’s who is friends with some of the folks organizing it, and I’d communicated with wheels about the need to get this stuff listed. wheels has done a great job of getting a few out–six so far–that ARE listed on gc.com.
But I agree. Hopefully next year, they will take advantage of the potential having everything listed can bring. We’ve gone after the permanent caches, but didn’t register for the event. We’re heading after some caches north of here—like a couple earthcaches and maybe a mess on some bike trail south of Eau Claire! 😉
Mr. Meteer has obviously registered here now, and can see how the warped minds of the hardcore cachers work firsthand. 🙄 I guess my hope as an area cacher is that a few of the people who play in that event get interested beyond it and join the community. Heck, there’s this pizza get-together right in the middle of the event! hint hint
10/20/2007 at 8:36 pm #1880415I wish I had seen this before. I was down in the LaCrosse area earlier today. I actually hit two caches this morning shortly after Trekkin and Birdin. 😀 I won’t be able to get down that far south again for a while.
