If anyone is ever headed out that way, I am happy to report that the scenic value of the 11 caches I did while there the last few days was A+. There are numerous virtuals and regular caches in some great locations around the lake.
I found myself overlooking the lake at 5:30 in the morning as the sun rose on one of my favorite caches – Ring of Fire.
Standing near Truckee where they buried the dead (eaten ) from the Donner Party was a bit creepy as the mist rolled up in the giant pines.
Finding one in sight of the olympic flame in Squaw Valley was neat.
Overall it was a great time and as I was trying to explain geocaching to others out there, a fantastic article was published in fridays San Francisco Cronicle that did a much better job then I did.
If anyone has the capability to scan and put this online, I would be happy to send them the article for us all to see.
So the caches were not difficult but were fantastic in helping me find some great areas I would have missed.

Yes! We are going to King’s Canyon, Sequois National Park, Yosemite, and Lake Tahoe next week. I would be thrilled to hear about the caches you found near Lake Tahoe, as we plan to do some geocaching on our trip.
