I have a hide here in town near a lamp post but not in it though I did also put a decoy in the lamp post. Just about every log posted on this cache said they fell for the decoy before finding the real cache.

Goes to show the predictability of LPC’s.

They may be boring, but great for a confidence booster after a string of DNF’s

    Keep those comments coming.

I, too, hate the sound of those dang LPCs.

They are very cool at first, but the excitement has worn thin for me. Not that it stops me from finding them.

I did find an actual container hidden in lamp skirt — that was novel.

Our 8 and 11 year old grandsons love them. They even wanted to do a multi cache at WalMart using all of the lamposts. Who knows, you may still see that someday.

The noise is what always gets me….like fingernails on a chalkboard! We actually did find the first one of these we encountered, our very first time, as relatively new cachers. I still don’t know how we knew to look there, but we did. Interestingly enough, it was a drhaas hide, and having cached more than a few times with them, we know how much Donna loves these!

Not our favorites, we’d rather be in the woods, but like someone said, sometimes it’s nice to find an easy one….especially at the end of a long day. There’s a multitude of ways to play, which is one of the beauties of this game.

I did a night cache like this once 😉 (was at last year’s cache bash) how many lamp post skirts will we have to raise?? I remember thinking that…

Variety is the spice of life. ..plus I can say I never got poison ivy or got a wood tick from doing a lamp post hide. 😆

Our first LPC was actually a flag pole skirt. It was about our fifth cache and a multi to boot. we found the first couple stages with no problem then it came to the final and there were a lot of possible hiding spots. I think we spent a good half hour looking for it and then we gave up and went home. When we went to log the DNF we discovered there was a hint for it and it said something about a flag pole. So back we went and started looking again and not having much luck I accidently kicked the skirt and noticed it moved. So a little closer examination and we made the find.

I found a new kind of lamp post cache tonight. I do believe I will be bringing this one back to wisconsin with me, because it is clever and I almost DNF’s it.

My first LPC was in Wisconsin Rapids. I DNF’d on it once and almost gave up on it the second time before I figured out to look under that darn skirt. I have placed one LPC and received comments that it is too easy, or rated too hard, but I also know at least one person who has looked for that cache at least 4 times and not found it yet.I’m just waiting for him to ask for a hint.

All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

Does anyone listen to Podcacher? One of the host hates with a passion LPC’s and it is funny listening to him talk about it. I don’t recall my first one, but I do remember one in a Piggly Wiggly parking lot. I was in the drive threw at a nearby culvers and when they gave me the number and I pulled ahead I put it in park and ran towards the cache. Left the car running and everything Got it, signed the log and got back to my car before the food was ready. People were giving me wierd looks! Kinda like a chinese fire cache drill. I love them. Living in sellzup it is almost impossible to clear the area so getting these easy smiles are a good break from the puzzles!

My first lpc was pretty easy. I’d been lurking on the GC forums for a while and knew all about them. I was talking with a fellow cacher about them and she asked if I did a particular one yet. So yeah, I knew what and where I was looking for that one. I haven’t found that many yet, so they are still fairly novel for me.

Love ’em/Hate ’em. Some days we’ll drive right by and other days I’m glad they are there.

The most recent one we did was in a parking ramp in Eau Claire. Our kids were dressed in anime costumes and brandishing fake swords, so I KNOW we didn’t draw any undue attention. 🙂

I prefer caching in the woods, ammo cans!

Recently did a few days in Rochester, MN. Did many urban caches and had alot of fun with many different types of light poles and other devious hides in town. Found about 5 types of LP hides.

While in Arkansas, we saw a series of SLAP caches….turns out to be Skirt Lifters Anonymous Project
