Hello all!
I’m a producer for the television series, Discover Wisconsin. I’m looking for somebody to take the host of our show, Stephanie Klett, out geocaching in Langlade County for an episode we’re shooting there. We’re going to be in the area on Monday 7/17 & Tuesday 7/18. If there’s anybody interested in showing Stephanie how geocaching works and taking her on a search in that area for our cameras, I’d really appreciate it. Please email me at [email protected] if you’re interested. (Also, you can check out what our show’s about at http://www.discoverwisconsin.com if you’d like to know more about us!)
Thanks!
Sandie Rohrer07/13/2006 at 2:35 am #1763503I just looked to see where Langlade was. I remember once someone had done a map distribution of where our WGA members were….where did that go?
Looking at the map, Langlade County has the following cities: Antigo, White Lake, Langlade, Elcho, Pearson, Pickerel, and Parrish.
Anyone know of cachers in those areas? The zip code for Antigo is 54409 and I did a gc.com search of caches and didn’t recognize the names of the cachers in those areas. Maybe someone more north than me knows someone.

Email sent 🙂
07/19/2006 at 12:51 am #1763506We had a great day today geocaching with the Discover Wisconsin Crew. Marc_54140 and the GrouseTales family hit a few geocaches in the White Lake area in Langlade County.
Sandie, thanks for contacting the WGA for the chance to tag along 🙂
07/19/2006 at 6:01 pm #1763507Gee Brian, it’s great to see you were on the trails again…even if it was just for a chance to be on television! 😉
Hope the day went well…any idea when the story will run?
07/20/2006 at 2:11 pm #1763508🙂 Yes, you need to dangle a carrott in front of me to get me out geocaching.
I prefer the wooded hikes, and the hot buggy months are my least favorite for that. Of course we always get out geocaching a bit while on vacation, so the timing was right.
The nice road trip in the the air conditioned truck was a nice relief from a hot week at the cabin with no a/c 😀
07/20/2006 at 7:31 pm #1763509LOL! That’s why we’re doing condo vacation! If we cache, we cache, if not…there’s always next year!
Seriously though…when’s the show going to be on tv?
07/20/2006 at 11:24 pm #1763510Oops forgot to answer that question. The show should be on some time next spring. I guess the show schedule is available on their website, but the air date hasn’t been established yet.
If you ever watch the show, they focus on a certain area, and show activities for each season. They will often times make several trips to an area over the course of the year to show all the different seasons in one episode. There is a lot of organization that goes into making an episode. I was intrigued to hear all the details.
07/21/2006 at 6:30 am #1763511That’s cool…thanks for the info. Let us know if you find out when it’s airing.
