Whoops, I have a cache with pine trees and a rock pile 😳

07/21/2010 at 3:13 pm #1933534I don’t like rock piles either, they mess with my pretty nails. 😕 But… I have a few of my own, but I make the clue so you can find it and not mess around. I even have two for the cache bash so watch out…. 😳
07/21/2010 at 4:13 pm #1933535Any cache I can see from 50 feet away would be my least favorite. You know the ones, you see a pile of sticks laying in a pile, all running the same direction.
Followed closely by any cache with little or no thought put into it. ie 35mm film canister in the crotch of a tree.
It’s not that I don’t like these, or won’t hunt these, especially since we usually don’t know they are ahead of time, they just aren’t exciting to find. 🙂 I’m grateful for every cache placed, and wish I had time to hunt more of them.

I’ve seen that referred to as “stickoflage”, like camouflage, only with sticks . Took me forever to figure out what the heck that was when I first saw the term. I think it was an AuntieNae cache where I saw it – not sure if she coined the term or not.
I’d have to agree with previous posts – pine trees and rock piles.

We call them anti-cammo
07/22/2010 at 5:04 pm #1933539Caches under piles of sticks are called UPS “Unusual Pile of Sticks” thats as per Smashing Grounds definision. LOL
My least favorite caches are underwater caches. Ten feet or less is good but further down I will need to use that diving bell over at the buy and sell shop.07/22/2010 at 10:20 pm #1933540Caches in highly visible places.
Caches in people’s yards.

People’s back yards…
Coming from TN originally where people use
shotguns to protect backyards… this kinda
cache weirds me out…😛 😆

No! I meant TANKS… as in big, metal tanks. Like the ones you see in….
Oh nevermind….07/25/2010 at 9:46 pm #1933545@Team Black-Cat wrote:

Oh nevermind….Yep, I have one of those, too. I look at my tank cache as a learning opportunity. I learned a lot about making hides from that one, like when and how much of a hint to give. Haven’t had anyone DNF on that one in a while 🙂
